1. The service and its AI model
Tiny Desk AI is a digital photo-to-video service. You choose a lead portrait and may add portraits for the keyboard player and saxophonist. The service produces a fictional, vertical desk-concert video of about 18 seconds. Video generation uses Seedance 2.5, developed by ByteDance. We operate independently of that model developer and of NPR, NPR Music, Tiny Desk Concerts, Charlie Wilson and The Gap Band. None of those organisations or artists endorses this service.
2. Agreement, age and accounts
By creating an account or starting a generation, you agree to these terms and our Privacy policy. You must be at least 18, able to enter a binding agreement and authorised to act for any organisation you represent. Keep your account email accurate and your sign-in codes private. Tell support if you suspect unauthorised access. You are responsible for activity you authorise; these terms do not make you responsible for failures caused by us.
3. Digital delivery and availability
Videos are delivered through your account for playback and download; nothing is shipped. Generation starts after the request is accepted and sufficient credits are available. Queues and provider outages can delay delivery. A time shown on the site is an estimate, not a guaranteed deadline. Closing a tab or signing out does not cancel a request. Download a copy of any finished video you want to keep before its link expires.
4. Credits, prices and payment
A generation uses 10 site credits, including the optional keyboard and saxophone roles. The Pricing page shows the planned one-time packs and their USD prices. Their credits have no scheduled expiry while your account remains open. Each separately accepted generation uses its own credits; a failed generation returns them automatically. Credits are service-use units, not money, and cannot be transferred or redeemed for cash. Paid purchases are not open yet. There is no active subscription, automatic renewal or automatic top-up, and publishing planned prices does not authorise a payment. Any applicable taxes and payment/refund conditions will be displayed before checkout opens.
5. Cancellation and refunds
Do not start a second request simply because the first is still processing. Once generation has started, an upstream task may not be stoppable and closing the page does not reverse its credit charge. A task that ends in failure receives an automatic credit return. A completed but technically broken file can be reported for review under the Refund policy. A credit return is different from refunding a payment. Mandatory refund, withdrawal and consumer rights remain available wherever applicable; we do not treat downloading a file as a blanket waiver of those rights.
6. Your photos and generated results
You keep any rights you already hold in your uploads. You must have permission to use every photo. Portraits must depict adults, and any real person pictured must explicitly agree to the synthetic performance. Permission to possess a photo is not necessarily permission to make or share a synthetic performance. You give us the limited permission needed to host, process and send the selected material to our service providers to produce, deliver and support your requested video. This does not give us ownership of your photos or permission to use them in advertising. Rights in generated output depend on applicable law and third-party rights; we do not promise exclusive copyright or clearance for every use.
7. Acceptable use and prohibited content
The intended use is consensual, clearly fictional entertainment. Do not use a generated performance as evidence that someone actually sang, performed, said something or endorsed a product. When sharing, disclose that it is AI-generated wherever viewers could otherwise be misled and follow the destination platform’s rules. In particular, do not submit, generate, store or share:
- Any sexual or pornographic content, non-consensual intimate imagery, sexual exploitation or sexualised depictions of minors. Do not upload a minor’s portrait for this service.
- Graphic violence, credible threats, encouragement of self-harm, terrorism, trafficking or instructions that facilitate serious physical harm or weapons abuse.
- Hate targeting protected groups, targeted harassment, humiliation, intimidation or discriminatory abuse.
- Deceptive impersonation, fraud, fabricated evidence, political deception or false endorsements. Do not clone a person’s voice or use someone’s likeness without the required permission.
- Copyright, trademark, privacy or publicity-rights infringement, including unauthorised music, recordings, photos or private personal information.
- Attempts to bypass safety rules, account restrictions, rate limits, payment or credit controls; compromise accounts; redistribute access without permission; or disrupt the service.
8. Music, recordings and other third-party rights
A soundtrack, reference performance or familiar visual format may have rights separate from the generated faces. A tool output, a parody label or permission from a person in a photo does not by itself grant a licence to a song, sound recording, performance, trademark or another person’s voice. Any retained source audio must be cleared for the intended use. Do not assume that a social platform’s in-app music licence covers a downloaded recording, paid advertisement or commercial distribution. Platforms may mute, restrict or remove content. We do not promise an artist’s endorsement or unrestricted commercial rights.
9. Review and enforcement
We can investigate reports, request relevant information, decline a request, restrict access to material we control and suspend an account for serious or repeated misuse. Measures depend on the evidence and risk. We may preserve limited records needed to investigate abuse or meet legal obligations. We do not promise that every upload or output has been checked by a human. Provider safety controls do not guarantee that a result is safe or accurate. Where feasible, we explain restrictions and allow an appeal; we may withhold details that would compromise safety, an investigation or another person’s privacy.
10. Reports, response times and appeals
You do not need an account to report a concern or appeal a decision. Use the support/reporting email in the Contact section. Include the relevant page or file URL, session ID if available, the reason for the report, your contact email and enough evidence to locate and assess the issue. For an appeal, include the decision or case reference and explain why it should be reconsidered. Do not send passwords, full card numbers or illegal imagery. Copyright notices should also follow the DMCA page.
Response and notification timetable
We acknowledge a report or appeal by email within 2 business days of receipt. We complete the investigation and email the outcome, action taken or reason for no action within 10 business days of receipt. Both periods begin when the report arrives, not after acknowledgement. If more time is needed, we email the reason and a new expected completion date before the current deadline, and update it again before any further extension. Business days mean Monday to Friday in UTC. Reports involving child safety, non-consensual intimate material or imminent physical danger receive priority; once a serious risk is identified, we take prompt protective steps within our control. These are manual support commitments, not a promise of automated replies or a continuously staffed emergency service.
11. Privacy, storage and deletion
The Privacy policy explains account data, photos, provider processing and your choices. Upload access expires after two days and result access after 30 days. Daily cleanup may take up to a further day to delete expired stored media. Account, credit and job records can outlast the media where needed for the service or legal obligations. A result link can be opened by someone who has it, so do not treat sharing that link as a private invitation. Contact support for access or deletion requests; deleting browser cookies is not an account-deletion request.
12. Output limitations and responsibility
Faces, hands, instruments, expressions, motion and timing can contain errors. A reference scene or fixed soundtrack does not guarantee perfect lip sync or identity consistency. Review the entire video before sharing it. The service is provided as available, subject to any rights that cannot lawfully be excluded. To the extent permitted by law, we do not accept responsibility for indirect losses caused by uses we could not reasonably foresee. Nothing in these terms excludes responsibility that cannot legally be excluded, including applicable protections for consumers, fraud or wilful misconduct.
13. Suspension, termination and unused value
You may stop using the service and ask support to close your account. Closing a tab is not account closure. We may suspend or end access for a serious breach, fraud, repeated infringement or a legal requirement. Disputed restrictions can be appealed under the procedure above. Account closure does not remove obligations already incurred or override mandatory refund rights. We do not currently sell credits; any later sale will include the applicable expiry and account-closure terms before you pay.
14. Disputes and applicable rights
Contact support with the facts and the remedy you seek so we can try to resolve a dispute. You retain any right to contact a consumer authority, payment provider or court that applicable law gives you. These terms do not impose mandatory arbitration, prevent lawful complaints or take away mandatory protections in your place of residence. The operator’s legal identity and location will appear with the contact information before public sales open.
15. Changes to these terms
The date above identifies this version. We will post revised terms here and give reasonable advance notice of material changes affecting an existing paid service, unless an urgent legal or security change requires earlier action. A new price or material restriction does not retrospectively change a completed purchase. If a provision cannot be enforced, the remaining provisions continue to apply to the extent allowed by law.
16. Contact and operator
Use the same published support email for service questions, billing concerns, privacy requests, abuse reports and appeals. Tiny Desk AI is not open for public purchases. The operator’s legal name, location and support contact will be listed here before purchases open.
